About me!

Bonjour!

In three words, I would say I’m bubbly, passionate and happy. If I’m not laughing, I’m smiling. My heart is in athletics and my event, javelin. Sport has shaped the person I am now and to become – I would be lost without it. I also love to coach as I feel a need to pass on what I have learnt and go through the process that my coaches have been through with me.

Art is my other quieter passion and I love being creative and losing myself drawing or writing. My preference is within fine art and have done many commissions for people including their pets and portraits.

I’m itching to get back into both of these parts of my life once my shoulder is healed! You really don’t know how much you miss something until it is taken away from you.

I have lots of dreams and goals and a main one of mine is to travel the world and experience different cultures and places. I love appreciating the world naturally and the elements – NO I don’t mean getting burnt to a crisp. But I must admit…I do have a weakness for lightening so I suppose that could happen if I got too close!

I hope to make my own trail in life and do things that make me happy. Be yourself and don’t let the buggers get ya down! 😀

  1. Hey Kelly loving the blog! I need to find a decent javelin coach (your coach and existing seem very good from what I’ve read). I don’t actually throw the javelin but i play cricket (good standard) and need to learn the drop step and front foot block. Ive found it very hard to contact good coaches and was wondering if you could give me any advice on finding one. Thank you and sorry for the random message!

    • Hi! Thanks so much for taking the time to contact my blog – I am sorry for the slow response. \

I have talked to my coach about you – at the moment he has ALOT of athletes and so I don’t think he would have a lot of time.

However he gave me the name of a good fast bowling cricket coach and Strength & Conditioning coach based in Somerset – Steffan Jones. You can find him on twitter https://twitter.com/SteffanJones105 and here is his profile http://www.espncricinfo.com/england/content/player/15552.html

I hope this helps! Again – it is nice to know my blog is making a difference to someone somewhat 🙂

      Kelly

      • Hey Kelly, thanks for the reply. I did know about Steffan but I was looking for someone with more experience teaching the drop step etc because like javelin throwing i think it is the most important skill to master. I don’t suppose you know of any other javelin coach who put emphasis on what i’ve talked about? Thanks again!

      • There is Chris Watts who is a javelin coach and is in Loughborough but I think he travels about a lot!
Other javelin coaches – Mick Hill based in Leeds – retired top British jav thrower.
I’m not too sure about their availability as they aren’t my coaches hah!
If you are about in Loughborough I can have a crack at teaching you a few things if you like 🙂
